That’s because people are awful and they convinced you of that. No. You’re not awful. It’s called compulsive lying because it’s a compulsion. You didn’t wake up one day and go “you know what? I think today I’m gonna spin a web of lies that becomes more and more difficult for me to keep up because I’m an asshole.” It’s a fear response, and most common in abuse victims.
